Choose Langtang as your next trekking destination if you are looking for a short easy with and enjoyable trip with blissful natural views and cultural exploration opportunities. Langtang region treks are also less crowded compared to Everest and Annpurnas letting you see more in fewer days while without any hassle of accommodation, lodging and fooding.

This Langtang region was severely affected by the Gorkha earthquake last year in 2015 where many people lost their loved ones to avalanches and earthquakes. Now, however, with rebuilding efforts from a local level and government level, it’s completely safe for trekking and Langtang is ready to welcome the tourists. This region is naturally blessed as it comprises plenty of glaciers, with excellent views of the great Himalayan range Langtang to Ganesh Himal with plenty of excursion opportunities at high altitude lakes Gosaikunda, Dudh Kunda, and others to name a few.

Most of the local inhabitants are from Tamang ethnic group that originated from Tibet, believed to be traveled from Tibet hundreds of years ago, hence they possess quite similar traditions, culture, and lifestyle. The way of their living is different than others, their cultural dress, food, occupation in crafts, their houses, everything attracts anyone who visits the place.

Situated nearby Kathmandu valley at the northeastern side, mainly dominated by Langtang Lirun Himalaya at 7246 meters above sea level. There are plenty of other Himalayas, and on the southern side, Chinese danda, Ganja la pass, and Dorje Lakpa are major sceneries and attractions.

Most of the local inhabitants are Yak herders with dependency on tourism and agriculture. They grow potatoes, wheat, maize, soya, and other millet. There are plenty of facilities available in major spots like Dhunche and Syabru. The route has been accessible via Langtang to Gosaikunda and Sundarijal with plenty of short trekking opportunities.
