Significance of First International Yoga Day in Our Daily Lives
Today, 21st of June 2015 is celebrated as International Yoga Day for the very first time. Proposal of International Yoga Day sent by Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi to United Nations General Assembly was accepted and hence declared June 21 as International Yoga Day. This specific date was chosen as it is regarded as longest day of year in Northern hemisphere and holds specific spiritual significance. Large number of people are celebrating yoga day by performing various yoga asanas around India as well as in various parts of Nepal.
Practicing Yoga and meditation makes us physically as well as mentally fit and healthy. And if we are not used to this practice then there might not be another better day to start than on International Yoga Day.
