Everest Climbing Charm Continues
The charm of being at top of the world is not only continues but it has been increasing annually. Last year’s natural disaster did not discourage the climbers to embark for Everest expedition this year. In comparison to previous year’s 31climbing teams, this year it is expected that more than 40 teams will apply for the expedition.
Nepal government was hugely criticized that even after charging high rates as climbing fees no any effort has been made on behalf of climbers. This year, tourism officials has taken a positive step and placed more medical camps with prompt rescue effort. With 24/7 office tent at camp, government officials is not only providing security and safety but settling disputes between climbers and guides with close monitoring at Everest base camp.
Since the first Everest expedition by Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenjing Norgay Sherpa since 1953, nearly five thousand climbers have successfully stepped at summit of Mt. Everest. And more than hundred people have lost their lives in the process. Due to unforeseen conditions and natural disasters, people lost their lives but Everest climbing charm continues and it is believed to be in increasing trend in future.
