Annapurna short trek – 5 days, as the name suggests it is the shortest trek in Annapurna region with the magnificent views of Himalayan ranges. Annapurna short trek is easy trek ideal for family trekking with kids. The trek goes around the Pokhara valley trekking and hiking through Australian camp and Sarangkot. The rhododendron forest blossom magnificently during the spring season making the trek a pleasing journey. We walk through small villages inhabited by variety of ethnic groups. Along the trek we see eye catching views of Annapurna Himalayan ranges. Mt. Annapurna I, Mt. Machhapuchre, Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Nilgiri are some of the snow-capped mountains among many others.

Annapurna short trek -5 days begins once you arrive in Kathmandu. Next day we take a short mountain flight from Kathmandu to scenic and adventurous city, Pokhara.  From Pokhara we drive to Phedi from where the actual trek starts. We head further towards Australian camp passing the small but beautiful Dhampus Village. The Australian camp is also famous for its spectacular mountain view. The very next day we cross Naudanda Village to reach Sarangkot from where you can see the bird’s eye view of scenic Pokhara valley. We trek down to beautiful Pokahra City. Finally, we fly back to Kathmandu and this ends our trek.

Annapurna Short Trek – 5 days Day to Day Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) Kathmandu

As you imagine your upcoming days in Nepal, your International flight lands in the one and only Tribhuvan International Airport which serves as a gateway for many tourists in the central hub of Kathmandu. After completing all the necessary airport formalities, you along with your luggage shall be greeted by a representative of Icicles Adventure team. With a heart filled with affection, you shall be ushered towards a private vehicle which will transfer you to your hotel. After reaching your hotel, you can finally take off your luggage and have a relaxing bath to rejuvenate your drained bodies. Later you can go out of your hotel rooms and make a short visit around the locality to observe the streets of Thamel. Stay overnight at Kathmandu.

Day 02: Fly Kathmandu to Pokhara(820m/2,690ft) and trek to Australian Camp (1990m/6527ft) Duration: 5-6 hrs

With refreshing morning sound, you shall wake up in the heartland of Kathmandu and have our breakfast before making our way to the domestic airport. We are now going to take a scenic flight towards the western touristic hub of Pokhara city which provides mesmerizing mountain and hill scenery. Our flight can last up to 30 minute in general. After landing at the Pokhara airport, we shall now take a drive to a place called Phedi and then start our trekking experience from there onward. Initially, we are plan on hiking higher from the lower districts to reach the beautiful village of Dhampus and Pothana where traditional Nepalese culture and ethnicity still remains thrives beautifully amongst one of the loveliest regions in Nepal. Going through we can see several terraced farmlands where rice and other food items are cultivated by the local communities. Shortly having our lunch at Dhampus, we shall arrive at our final destination of Australian Camp which at a high elevation of 1,990 m is a good place to observe incredible mountain vistas including the holy Mt. Machapuchare which is sometimes called Mt. Fishtail. Stay overnight at Australian Camp.

Day 03: Australian Camp to Sarangkot (1991m) 6 hrs

As of now you must have enjoyed every bit of your stay at the Australian Camp and captured a wide-ranging variety of mountain pictures which you can cherish for your entire life. Experiencing this stunningly diverse place can be a dream come true for people with very less time in Nepal but wish to explore and encounter amazing natural and cultural diversity. But now we have to make our way away from the Australian Camp to our next destination which is known as Sarangkot. Mostly popular for being a hill view point near to Pokhara, trekkers and tourists alike can enjoy the enchanting Himalayan view while being able to see the iconic Phewa Lake shimmering down below along the city line of Pokhara. Traversing through we now move from densely forested trekking trails and hike downhill towards Naudanda along a ridge line of a hill which consists diverse range of ethnic mixture for tourists to glance upon. Lastly after trekking for nearly 6 hours, trekkers shall arrive at the stunning Sarangkot hill where during the night time, the lights of the sparking city life of Pokhara along with the twinkling stars above make a dramatic setting for the eyes of trekkers who have managed to reach and stay in Sarangkot for the night. Stay overnight at Sarangkot.

Day 04: Trek to Pokhara 2 hrs and fly back to Kathmandu

It’s the final phase of our trek where we now have leave Sarangkot behind us and head towards Pokhara before the end of this day. So, as we finish our breakfast, we shall carry our bags once again for a last final leg trail towards the touristic lake city of Pokhara. Our trek today is going to be very easy with just 2 hours of walking needed to reach our final goal objective. It is just an easy paced gentle downhill descent until we arrive at Pokhara where tourism flourishes vibrantly through its clean dirt free streets. Upon reaching Pokhara, you shall be transferred to your hotel rooms along with your personal luggage and while there you can take some showers, rest for a bit and later enjoy some last-minute strolling around the city before flying back to the capital city of Kathmandu later the same day. With a similar return, back to Kathmandu via a 30-minute flight, we arrive at the bustling Kathmandu city and once there you will be escorted to your respective hotel rooms for your last night in Kathmandu. Hence, we suggest doing some souvenir shopping before your departure tomorrow. Stay overnight at Kathmandu.

Day 05: Final Departure

It is day 5 and now we have reached the day when we have to say goodbye. After waking up and having your breakfast, a representative of Icicles Adventure team shall assist you in transferring to the Tribhuvan International Airport 3 hours prior to your upcoming flight departure. If you wish to extend your travel experience in Nepal with us for some more days then we will gladly lend you a hand to help you make plans for your stay.
