Clean Mountain Campaign 2023 – Aiming to Tackle the Global Challenge
On 28th March 2023, Flag-off Ceremony for the Clean Mountain Campaign 2023 was held in a special ceremony organized at Jangi Adda under the chief guest of Commander-in-Chief Maharathi Shri Prabhuram Sharma.
The Nepali Army has conducted the “Clean Mountain Campaign” since 2019 in coordination and cooperation with various government and non-government organizations. They firmly believe that this campaign can help reduce the impact of environmental pollution and global temperature to some extent.
This year’s campaign theme is “AN ENDEAVOR TO SAVE THE HIMALAYAS.” The 2023 campaign aims to collect about 35 tons of garbage from Everest, Lhotse, Barunche, and Annapurna mountains ending officially on World Environment Day (5th June).
