LAMJUNG, March 22: British Prince Harry has celebrated Holi, the Hindu festival of colors, with locals of Gaunda VDC of the western hilly district of Lamjung on Tuesday morning.

He had spent the previous night at Leurani village and trekked for about 45 minutes to reach Gaunda Secondary School at Okhari village of the VDC for observation, where he celebrated the festival with students, teachers and parents.

At first, Prince Harry had played a volleyball match with the students. The prince's side won the match. After the win, two local girls smeared color powder on Price Harry, who in return, smeared back colors on them prompting the start of the festive mood. Then everyone including teachers and parents got involved in the festival with Harry.

Gurkha pensioners had also particiated in the volleyball match held before the holi celebration. Both Harry's team and the opposing team had one Gurkha pensioner each and the rest were students. Prince Harry's team had won the match 25-19.

Prince Harry is on a five-day Nepal visit to observe rural lifestyle and culture, among other things. After the event at the school, he flew to Pokhara at 10 in the morning.
