UN Member Flags to be at Top of the World

Kathmandu (RSS): In this climbing season, the national flags of 193 countries, members of United Nations are being taken to highest point on the earth at top of Mt. Everest. National flags of all countries will be carried to top of Everest with a message of world peace, friendship and brotherhoodness by World Peace Miteri Forum Nepal’s members and named as ‘Mt. Everest Expedition for World Peace and Friendship 2015’.
Phurba Thile Sherpa, Vice-Chairman of Forum will be part of Everest expedition with national flags of 193 countries during this May. After reaching the top, pictures of fluttering flags will be taken and submitted to respective head of the nations and UN head quarters by the month of July this year. On the occasion, President of Nepal Mountaineering Association Ang Tshering Sherpa hoped the campaign would be fruitful in disseminating a message of peace all across the world. In the press conference Sherpa said that the expedition would cost Rs 1.8 million and he himself would bear all the costs adding that his mission was not to break or set record for anything but to maintain world peace.
