21st of June 2015 was celebrated as International Yoga Day for the very first time. Proposal of International Yoga Day sent by Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi to United Nations General Assembly was accepted and hence declared June 21 as International Yoga Day. This specific date was chosen as it is regarded as the longest day of the year in the Northern hemisphere and holds specific spiritual significance. A large number of people are celebrating yoga day by performing various yoga asanas around India as well as in various parts of Nepal.

Practicing Yoga and meditation makes us physically as well as mentally fit and healthy. And if we are not used to this practice then there might not be another better day to start than on International Yoga Day. Meditation helps in control in your mind and when you have absolute control you will know the reality of life, your spiritual identity, and self-realization. With the regular practice of yoga and meditation as instructed by a yoga instructor, you will certainly gain a whole lot of positive energy in your life.

So, are you determined to bring positive changes in your life? If yes, then allocate some time for yoga and meditation on daily basis. Or what you can do is embark on yoga-oriented tours in Nepal, the land of the Himalayas. It is believed that yoga was developed in the Himalayas by Lord Shiva. So why not embarking on the yoga classes from the place of their origin? The effect of yoga will be even more while practicing on the land of the Himalayas. We, Icicles Adventure Treks and Tours are pioneers in organizing specific yoga-oriented tours in Nepal. Therefore let’s start practicing yoga from today, bring positive changes in our mind and body, and finally inquire us if you want to experience yoga around the foothills of the Himalayas. Happy First International Yoga Day!
